Egypt’s Ministry of State for Media calls on media outlets to ensure accuracy in covering the regional crisis

The Egyptian Ministry of State for Media has urged media outlets to exercise accuracy and adhere to official sources when covering the ongoing military escalation in the region, in order to preserve domestic stability and ensure that citizens receive correct information.

This guidance was issued in an urgent media briefing on Saturday, February 28, 2026, during which the ministry emphasized the importance of referring to official statements from the relevant Egyptian authorities when reporting on Egypt’s position regarding the events.

The ministry also highlighted the need for continuous monitoring of announcements from the Cabinet and concerned ministries regarding precautionary measures to address any potential impacts of the crisis on the economy or daily life.

Regarding the situation of Egyptians in the affected areas, the ministry clarified that the sole reference for information is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of International Cooperation, and the Egyptian expatriates authorities, stressing the importance of notifying them immediately of any circulating information to ensure prompt handling.

The ministry confirmed that it is available to receive inquiries from media outlets and coordinate with relevant authorities to provide accurate clarifications that support public awareness.
