Treating the Iranian Squint

It is certain that all peace-loving peoples reject the brutal American–Israeli aggression against Iran. Even the American people themselves include a large majority that rejects this brutal war. Within the U.S. administration itself there is a faction, led by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, that rejects this war, or at least is not enthusiastic about it, according to the statements of the U.S. President himself. If the majority of the peoples of the world reject this cursed war, then what about the Arab and Islamic peoples? Certainly, all of them—with very few exceptions—strongly support the Iranian people in their current crisis.

Iran should have preserved this sweeping popular momentum and focused its response only on the Israeli and American sides, directing all its stockpiles of missiles and drones toward the heart of Tel Aviv and toward the American aircraft carriers in the oceans and seas.

It is clear that a state of confusion has struck the Iranian military leadership, causing it to direct some of its missiles and drones toward certain locations in neighboring brotherly Arab states in the Gulf and Jordan.

Earlier, President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an apology to those countries in a commendable and appreciated gesture, but those attacks have not stopped until now, as if the Iranian military leadership had been afflicted with a “squint,” making it unable to accurately determine its military targets.

Hence came Egypt’s call for Iran to immediately halt its attacks on Arab countries during the telephone call received by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian. The Egyptian position deserves every appreciation and respect, as Egypt rejects aggression against the sovereignty of states or interference in their internal affairs, and also rejects calls for changing regimes from abroad.
